María Catalina Echevarría de Vidal

Biographical details

Born on 1 April 1782, in Rosario, Argentina, she was orphaned at an early age and married Manuel Vidal in September 1810. Her brother Anastasio became friends with Belgrano during the Paraguay expedition. She made a blue and white flag used by Belgrano on 27 February 1812. She later moved to San Lorenzo where she died on 18 July 1866. (Sosa de Newton, 206)
