The sister of the first archbishop of Buenos Aires, Mariano José de Escalada, she sang the national anthem for the first time in Mariquita Sánchez's Buenos Aires house on 14 May 1813, accompanied by Sánchez on the piano. She married Antonio de los Reyes y Marín. (Sosa de Newton, 210)
