From Bogotá, the daughter of Rosalía Sumalve, sister of Ambrosio and Vicente Almeyda, and of Rafaela, Gabriela, and Teresa Almeyda.

In September 1817, she was imprisoned for two weeks by royalist troops. (Díaz y Díaz, 72)
