Biographical details

From Bogotá, the daughter of Rosalía Sumalve, sister of Ambrosio and Vicente Almeyda, and of Trinidad, Gabriela, and Teresa Almeyda.

In September 1817, she was imprisoned for two weeks by royalist troops. A romance developed between her and Joaquín Nepomuceno de Castro y Andrade, who was with her brothers in prison. They married some time later. They had two children, Jesús and Aliseo. She died young. (Díaz y Díaz, 72-73, 281)
