Biographical details

From Bogotá, the youngest daughter of Rosalía Sumalve, sister of Ambrosio and Vicente Almeyda, and of Rafaela, Trinidad, and Teresa Almeyda.
In September 1817, she was imprisoned for two weeks by royalist troops. She later entered the Monasterio del Carmen, Bogotá, renouncing her worldly goods in April 1823. (Díaz y Díaz, 72, 281)
