In October 1821 she donated 10 pesos to the patriot troops for their fight against Puerto Cabello. She is described as a ciudadana from Guanare, Venezuela. (Gaceta de Caracas, 15/11/1821, p.4.)

She was probably related to Matilda Gainza. There is a third Gainza woman whose first name is illegible.
