Biographical details
Born on 11 March 1767 in Córdoba, Argentina, she married José de Paz, administrator of post in Córdoba in 1790. They had three sons. They both joined the patriots when the revolution broke in May 1810. Two of their sons joined the patriot forces and they gave money to Cornelio Saavedra, the president of the junta. José de Paz died on 17 March 1825 and she conceived of a plan to marry her granddaughter Margarita to her son General José María (Margarita's uncle). They managed to do this in 1834 when José María was a prisoner in Santa Fé. From then on she and Margarita lived in confinement with José María. Her health was unable to sustain this and she died in Luján on 10 February 1839. A street in Córdoba bears her name. (Sosa de Newton, 303-304)
She was born in Córdoba on 11 August 1767 and married José de Paz on 27 October 1790. In 1811 she donated 2 onzas of gold and the services of two of her sons to the independence cause. Saavedra forwarded her story to the Gaceta de Buenos Aires on 9 September 1811 to be printed as an example for others to follow. She died in Luján on 10 February 1839. (Carranza, 72-73; 165-166).
