Biographical details

She was born in Villa de Tarata, Cochabamba, Bolivia. Her support of the independence movement led to her exile to royalist Lima. Three of her sons fought for the independence cause, one of them was defeated in battle against Quijarro in Toco, possibly in 1823. (Urquidi, 205)
