Biographical details

He married to Manuela Campos. He attended María Josefa Pacheco's pro-independence tertulias in La Paz in 1809. (Monsalve, 36)

On 29 January 1810 Campos took her 2 young children and went before the Spanish general Goyeneche to plead for her husband's life. He said no. She then looked at him with hatred and said "¡Caiga la sangre de Gregorio García Lanza sobre su frente!" and left.(Urquidi. 182-183)
