Biographical details

From San Carlos, Valencia, Venezuela, in 1814 she dressed in men's clothes and joined her husband in the severely depleted ranks of the patriot army. She took part in the campaigns in Venezuela and Colombia, fighting in the battles of Gámeza, Pantano de Vargas and Boyacá in 1819. (Monsalve, 60)
