Biographical details

On 11 July 1814 royalist soldiers pillaged Valencia killing many people. On the following evening, Francisco Tomás Morales forced the leading women of the town to sing and dance for the troops at bayonet-point. Ledesma refused to dance and was killed. (Monsalve, 63)
