Biographical details
From Venezuela, she married Antonio Picón, and became the mother of Pedro Picón, the boy patriot who took part in the battle of Horcones. Pedro and another son, Jaime were killed in battle (Jaime at San Mateo on 28 February 1814). She is claimed to have said, "doy gracias a Dios porque mis hijos han derramado su sangria por la Patria". (Monsalve, 72)
