Biographical details

From Barcelona, Venezuela, the daughter of royalists who remained faithful to the crown, she and her 7 brothers and 4 sisters were nonetheless patriots. Her brothers all died in the independence cause. She married General José María Anzoátegui, who took part in the battle of Boyacá. (Monsalve, 78)

Bolívar wrote to her on 3 May 1820 expressing his friendship. (Monsalve, 254)
