Biographical details

Possibly from Bogotá, she was the daughter of Ignacio Torres, and niece of Camilo Torres. On 5 April 1820 she was tried by the royalists and reprimanded for her opinions and enthusiasm for the independence cause. She was not executed because the Spanish captain Eugenio Tamariz energetically defended her. (Monsalve, 226)
