Biographical details

From Buenos Aires, she was the daughter of Josefa Vilanova and Mariano Izquierdo. She hosted a tertulia attended by poets and politicians. She was gifted at reciting poetry. Bernardo Rivadavia planned the foundation of the Sociedad de Beneficencia at her house and on 18 February 1823 she became its secretary. She is presumed to have died in 1824. She was a founder member of the Sociedad de Beneficencia, of Mariquita Sánchez´s circle. She also founded the Sociedad de Buen Gusto. (Zavalía Lagos, 137)
