Biographical details

Born in Montevideo in 1779, she married General Nicolás de Vedia who fought in the Plata region. She is referred to as "la santa de las santas" in his writing. Their daughter Delphina de Vedia, was born in Buenos Aires in 1819 (she later married Bartolomé Mitre). She died in Montevideo in 1851. (Sosa de Newton, 491)
