Agustina Rosas de Mansilla

Biographical details
Born in Buenos Aires in 1826, she was the daughter of Agustina López de Osornio and León Ortiz de Rosas and sister of Juan Manuel Rosas. She was considered to be one of the most beautiful women of her time and was painted by Carlos Enrique Pellegrini. She was also well educated and cultured. She married Lucio Mansilla in 1841 in La Magdalena. She was a member of the Sociedad de Beneficencia and was its president from February 1845 to February 1852. After Rosas fell, Justo José de Urquiza reincorporated her in the reorganised Sociedad de Beneficencia. She died in Buenos Aires on 29 August 1898. (Sosa de Newton, 551)
