Biographical details

The daughter of Francisco Salcedo and Juana Mallea, a descendent of the conquistadores. On 30 July 1812 she married Domingo Soriano Sarmiento, uncle of D.F. Sarmiento. She worked in a shop in San Juan and taught basic literacy. D.F. Sarmiento lived with them for a time. She was widowed in 1827 and died in San Juan on 25 July 1841. (Sosa de Newton, 571)
