Biographical details
Born in San Juan, Argentina, in 1744 or 1745, she was the daughter of Gabriela Moyano and Capt. Pedro Sánchez de Loria, a descendent of the conquistadores. She married Pedro Quiroga and their home became a centre of independence activity. She was one of the contributors to the independence army from 1812 to 1819. She acted as madrina at the baptism of Francisco Narciso de Laprida, later president of the Tucumán Congress. She lived into her eighties. (Sosa de Newton, 576-577)
