Biographical details

A member of the Sociedad de los Guadalupes, Mexico City, which included lawyers, priests, owners, merchants, and several women. They were linked by social and family ties. He and his wife, Antonia Peña hosted meetings at their hacienda de León. He used his wealth to carry out different tasks within the society. (Gueda, 50)

A lawyer, he helped in the escape of José María Gallegos and José Mariano Martínez Lejarza in 1812. He was arrested. He collaborated with the buying of the press in 1812 and sent arms to the insurgents. (Gueda, a, 368-369)
