Adriana Montt y Prado de León

Biographical details

She was born around 1748, in Santiago de Chile, sister of Pedro, Lucas and Filiberto de Montt y Prado. Her nephew, Lucas's son Manuel Francisco Montt, was president of Chile between 1851 to 1861. She married Juan Ignacio León Labra, they had five children, Concepción, Lorenzo, Pedro, José María and Mariano. She wrote letters to her son, José María and daughter-in-law, Mercedes Espejo de León between 1810 and 1828. In her letters, particularly those to Mercedes, she gives advice about remedies. She died on 8 February 1828 aged almost 80. (Vergara Quiroz, 58-59, 79, 83, 115-118,130-137, 145, 161-174)
