Biographical details

An archaeologist and explorer, possibly born in 1805, who travelled to in Central America, Chiapas and Yucatán in 1840. He met the Guatemalan caudillo, Rafael Carrera. At one point he tried to buy the archaeological site in Palenque. His book, Incidents of travel in Central America, Chiapas, and Yucatan, was published in London in 1854. He possibly died in 1852.
