Biographical details
She was born in Arequipa and married Bartolomé María de Salamanca in Lima in 1821. Salamanca was Intendent of Arequipa from 1796-1811; he left office after being charged with smuggling, but was exonerated in 1812. He became interim intendent of Lima in 1820 and when San Martín took Lima, the couple planned to leave for Spain. Salamanca died on the journey in Rio de Janeiro in 1824. (Fisher, 191-192)
