Biographical details

She was from Curaçao and owned a posada in Caracas. In January 1835 she was accused of robbery and murdering Miguel Muñoz, one of her guests. Lack of evidence prevented her execution and she was sentenced to ten years in prison. Díaz points out that there was no women's prison in Caracas at the time. (Díaz, 148-149)
