Biographical details

Born in 1829, the beautiful daughter of "very rich entrepreneurs", she married Santa Anna in 1844. She lived in Mexico City until her death in 1886, where she lived a "fairly independent life" hosting parties and tertulias. (Fowler, 2007, 229-232.)
