Biographical details

From Venezuela, she was the sister of Ignacia Montilla. Letters from the Montillas to Carmen Palacios Obelmejías and Josefa Palacios de Vega indicate a refusal to cooperate in the Independence movement. (Knaster, 478.)

In 1832, she published a 30-page pamphlet, 'Al público. La publicación del documento que inserto a continuación es un tributo de respeto a mis conciudadanos. A continuación en él se refiere con exactitud y verdad un hecho que ha tenido lugar hace poco entre mi hijo Luis Delpech y el Sr. Angel Quintero', published in Caracas, by Imprenta Valentín Espinal. The only copy is in Harvard Library.
