Biographical details

In mid 1813 she attacked Eulalia Ramos Sánchez in Río Chico, Venezuela. Lorenza hit Ramos Sánchez and seized her by her hair. Ramos Sánchez screamed for help, then lost consciousness. The Spanish soldiers were about to kill Ramos Sánchez but a force of patriots arrived and saved her. Lorenza's Spanish officer lover later killed Ramos Sánchez's husband, Juan José Velázquez, in Caracas. (N.A., Heroínas, 19-20)
