Biographical details

From Caracas, he was the son of Juana Padrón de Montilla. He attended Luisa Arrambide's tertulias with Bolívar around 1814. (N.A., Heroínas, 38)

In March 1816, it was reported that he had left Cartagena to meet up with insurgents in Chocó, shortly before it was retaken by the royalists. (Gaceta de Caracas, 13/3/1816, p.502)
