Biographical details
From humble origins, she became renowned for beauty and art. She sang Torre Ugarte's national anthem on 24 September 1821, accompanied on the piano by Bernardo Alcedo. (Parra de Riego, 249.)
On 24 September 1821 she sang the national anthem (the lyrics of which were written by José de la Torre Ugarte) at the Teatro Principal in Lima, accompanied on the piano by José Bernardo Alcedo (who wrote the music) at the celebrations of independence. She had attended all the aristocratic salons in Lima. (García y Garcia, 233-234)
