Biographical details

Born in Ica, Peru, she founded the Casa de Ejercios Espirituales, a women's hospital and a Casa de Espósitos, sometime after 1783 (when the Viceroy offered a grant for them). She herself did much of the nursing, "un ángel salvador". She was regarded as a saint in Ica. (García y García, 147)
