Biographical details

Born in Lima, she married Mateo Pastor de Velasco. He supported her project to found a school for orphaned girls lacking fortunes. Pupils received limited instruction of basic literacy, but the fact that girls could become educated was put into practise and other institutions followed. (García y García, 162)
