Biographical details

A writer and liberal priest, born in 1727. He led a literary circle in Buenos Aires. His literary sonnets caused a clash with Viceroy Marqués de Loreto and he was exiled to Montevideo. His book collection formed the basis of the Buenos Aires national library. He died in 1788. (Coaster, 36-37)
