Biographical details

Born in 1784, in Buenos Aires, he wrote the ballad "Los Patricios" and the national anthem adopted in 1813. He was among the 28 members of La Sociedad de Buen Gusto, that had its first meeting in July 1817. It was founded to perform dramas. He was provisional president of Argentina. He died in 1856.
