Biographical details

A Venezuelan poet born in 1804. His family fled to Cuba in 1812. He returned to Venezuela in 1824 and was sent to London as attaché from 1824-26. There he probably met Andres Bello and José Fernández Madrid. His poems show the Romantic influence. He died in 1874. (Coaster, 308-310)
