Biographical details

Born in 1805, Tucumán, she was known as "Rubia de la Patria".
She was educated, and renowned for her beauty, her patriotism and her charitable sentiments. In 1823 she married Javier López, the mortal enemy of the family, but through her the rift was mended. After the death of her husband she continued her charitable works and was president of the Sociedad de Beneficencia until her death in 1862. (Sosa de Newton, 33-34)
