Biographical details

Born in Buenos Aires in 1817, the sister of the founder of Saladillo, Francisco Cabral. She became a teacher and married a Frenchman, Carlos Caillait in 1840. A member of the Sociedad de Beneficencia since 1856, she established a school in Dolores (Buenos Aires province) and others in Las Flores, and Saladillo. She set up several more schools in the 1870s, including one mixed school in 1872. She died in Buenos Aires on 8 May 1888. (Sosa de Newton, 109)
