Born in Mendoza, the daughter of Coronel Ramón Correas and Francisca Velázquez y Maturana, she married Dr. Pedro Nolasco Ortiz, a friend of San Martín. On 15 October 1815, she was among a group led by Remedios Escalada de San Martín who went to the cabildo and donated their jewels towards San Martín's Andes campaign. (Sosa de Newton, 155)
