Women soldiersBiography:
She is said to have been born in either the Valle de Zonda or lagunas de Guanacache, San Juan, Argentina. She was a mestiza, who rode on horseback through the mountains and valleys alongside her cacique father. She went hunting and was equal to any of the men. She worked as a messenger on foot and canoe. She took part in Facundo Quiroga's campaigns and accompanied El Chaco to the end of his caudilloship. She died in Valle Fertíl around 1874. (Sosa de Newton, 170-171)
