Born in Salta in 1779, she was the sister of Machacha and General Martín Güemes. She married Fructuoso de Figueroa y Toledo on 30 April 1809. They had six children. She was renowned for her charitable works. She gave refuge to her brother, Martín, when he fled his would-be assassins and helped him to reach his camp in Guachipas, Bolivia. (Sosa de Newton, 293)
