Biography:
From Lima, she and her cousin Juana de Dios Manrique de Luna corresponded with Sucre when he was in the Castillo del Real Felipe, Callao giving him details of the patriots´ movements. The patriots gave information to the two women, which they passed it on to José Olaya who then took it to San Lorenzo island disguised as a merchant in a fragile canoe. Their efforts helped to secure the capture of the frigate Esmerelda.

She worked as an intermediary between the patriot houses in Lima and Callao, working as a spy and putting the patriots in contact with each other. She was young and beautiful and spoke to defend Manrique de Luna when charges were brought against the latter. Her serenity convinced the judge of Manrique de Luna's innocence. The judge ordered the women to be left in peace, but the women's position was difficult. (García y García, 223-226)
