He married Isabel de Caicedo (of the Sanz de Santamaría family) in Tunja in 1805. He attended the pro-independence meetings at Camilo Torres's home in Bogotá. He was imprisoned by the royalists in 1816. Those of his effects that weren't stolen were taken by the royalists. He was executed in 1816. (Monsalve, 36, 142)
