A Presbyterian from Quito, in November and December 1808 he was a member of a group based in Quito that conspired against the Spanish authorities. Their plot was due to have been carried out in March 1809, but the plan was discovered the month before. He was assassinated around 1810. (Monsalve, 39, 45)
