From Mompós, Colombia, she was the wife of Pantaleón Germán Ribón, and sister-in-law of Petronila Germán Ribón de Jiménez. From a rich family, around 1815 she fled her home with her young family and took refuge in the woods for five years. (Monsalve, 108)
Her husband was executed by the royalists in Cartagena. She was imprisoned and her goods confiscated. She died in Jamiaca, without knowing that independence had been achieved. (P. Forero, 61-62)
