Mompós refugeesBiography:
From Mompós, Colombia, she was the daughter of Julián Guillén and Juana Gutiérrez de Piñeres (who was related to Visitador Regente, Juan Antonio Gutiérrez de Piñeres, part of the Mondragón family, who took part in the Comuneros rebellion).
In 1807 she married Spanish coronel, Manuel Anguiano. They both joined the independence cause. Anguiano was taken prisoner in Cartagena and executed on 24 February 1816. Guillén fled Mompós with her three-year-old son when it was occupied by the royalists, and returned to her parents´ home. (Monsalve, 110)
