In August 1816 she was ordered to become Directora of the Sociedad de Beneficencia y Caridad in Bogotá, that was established to provide services and uniforms for the royalist troops. Her age and illness prevented her from taking up the post and she was fined 100 pesos instead. (Monsalve, 158)
