She was the daughter of Miguel Ricaurte y Rigeiros and Josefa Manrique y Sanz de Santamaría, sister of Gil and Félix Ricaurte of Bogotá. She married Gregorio Tanco y Manrique.
On August 1819 she was among a group of 20 young women from distinguished families presented to Bolívar when he arrived at Bogotá in triumph. (Monsalve, 219, 222)
