From Mexico, in November 1828, with Ana Josefa Caballero de Borda, she professed concern for “the betterment of my sex”. She ran a school for girls that was visited by President Guadalupe Victoria in 1826. She campaigned for modern teaching methods as opposed to learning by rote. (Arrom, 4, 171, 198)
