From Buenos Aires, she was the daughter of enthusiastic patriots, Ángela Merlo and Francisco Mariano de Orma. On 30 May 1812 she was among a group of women who collected arms for the patriot troops. She married Tomás Rebollo in 1820, who fought in the independence struggles and they went into exile in Montevideo. She died in Buenos Aires on 13 May 1872. (Sosa de Newton, 457)
In 1812 she was among a group of women who sewed uniforms for the patriot army. Several of these offered to buy weapons and they asked that their names be inscribed on them. Their accompanying note (below) was reproduced in the Gaceta Minist in June 1812. (Mitre, Obras completas, VII, 16-17)
She was born on 11 June 1803, the daughter of Spanish Francisco Mariano de Orma and Angela Merlo. Despite his roots, her father supported the independence cause and was one of the first to obtain a letter of citizenship in the new republic. She married Tomás Rebollo, from the east, and accompanied him in his military life abroad and into exile in Montevideo. She died in Buenos Aires on 13 May 1872. (Carranza, 112-113)
