Born in San Juan de la Frontera on 25 January 1779, daughter of María Elena Albarracín and Juan Miguel de Oro y Cossio. Sister of Tránsito de Oro de Rodríguez and Fray Justo Santa María de Oro. She married José Ignacio Sarmiento, uncle of D.F. Sarmiento and she was D.F. Sarmiento's godmother. He lived in her house for a time and she influenced his thoughts on education.
