Born in Buenos Aires, on 14 February 1826, she was the daughter of María Inés de Basavilbaso Ferrín and Ildesfonso Ramos Mexía, who was governor of Buenos Aires in 1820. She married Hugo Bunge von Reinessend on 30 June 1850. She was part of a group of women who founded the Sociedad de San Vicente de Paúl on 14 July 1866, and she was its president.
